Northern Kenya’s Hidden Gem
Located in Samburu County, northern Kenya, on the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River (6hrs from Nairobi)
Set along the Ewaso Ny’iro River, Samburu is home to elephants, lions, leopards,cheetah and the Special Five of Northern Kenya: Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, Reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx and Gerenuk.
Culture: The reserve is inhabited by the Samburu people, pastoral cousins of the Maasai. They are known for their colorful beaded jewelry, vibrant shukas and traditional Samburu dances, which often include circular rhythmic movements and chants.
